The Sault Ste. Marie community is proud to offer a wide variety of educational options for our residents. Sault Area High School and Career Center provides a variety of equal education opportunities to prepare students to function effectively in society. This includes the development of marketable skills for equal opportunities as well as the preparation for post-secondary and higher education. As indication of the great educational opportunities available in the Sault area, the Sault Schools are delighted that two of our five elementary schools are “Blue Ribbon Exemplary School Award” recipients. In addition to the public school system, the Sault Area provides several additional private educational options. Including a Charter school option at JKL Bahweting School which provides Kindergarten through Eighth grade options. Our local Catholic school, St. Mary’s also provides Kindergarten through Eighth grade options. Immanuel Lutheran Church also provides an Elementary School option.

Chippewa County is home to additional educational options in the surrounding communities, include Bay Mills Community College in Brimley, Michigan. High School, Elementary and Charter school options can also be found in Pickford, Brimley, Rudyard, Les Cheneaux, Detour and Paradise.
