There is a maximum of 1000 total runners. Yes, we realize that is a lot for an inaugural race, we are not expecting miracles, just want to be prepared for the “in your wildest dreams” scenario.
There will be no race day registration for the any of the races. Finisher medals are awarded to all finishers. The top three finishers in each age group receive place medals.
Full marathon race start time is 7:00 a.m. The half marathon and 10k start at 7:30 a.m. and the 5k will start at 7:45 a.m. The full and half marathon is an out and back course which includes the International Bridge and continues along the river front in historic Sault Ste. Marie. The course is primarily fast and flat, with the exception of inclines on the International Bridge, and extremely scenic. An elevation chart is available. The race will start on the campus of Lake Superior State University with the finish lines located in downtown Sault Ste. Marie. The route is subject to change while we work through the certification process. Final route details will be available early summer.
Transportation will be available to bring runners back to the starting line and parking.
All marathoners will receive a custom designed Moisture Management Techinical shirt. Please mark appropriate size on your registration.

Travel documents Yes, we are running the International Bridge, however, we are not entering Canada. Our route turns around prior to passing through Canada Customs. Because we are not entering Canada, you do NOT need to provide a passport or other travel documents to verify citizenship. However, having said that, no one is allowed on the Bridge without a bib! U.S and Canadian Customs Officials will be on hand to ensure all participants follow the route and no one enters the race from the Canadian side of the bridge.
